Sport Timing Gierke Kultscher, Ratzeburg. The transponders provided by the promoter must be worn throughout the entire race according to the promoter’s regulations to ensure the correct recording of time. Other chips may not be used.

 

 

Participation:

Participation requirements

a) a license issued by the national triathlon-association or

b) a day license. 

It is possible to apply for a day license together with the application.

 

 

Registration:

a) Via internet www.ostseeman.de or

b) with official form downloaded from the internet.

 

When using the official form, applications are only valid with a signed release from liability, if the registration fee is transferred at the same time or if a direct debit instruction or a non-negotiable check is included. In case of an online-application, the release from liability is given electronically on the website. When transferring the entry fee to the bank account given in the confirmation of the reservation, the number of the reservation must be given in the transfer form.

 

Giving one’s starting place to another person is definitely not permitted.

 

All participants have to pick up their start documents personally and need valid starting licenses as well as identity cards/passports which they have to produce at the issuing office or at other control points of the organization. Otherwise a day license must be bought.

 

 

Registration of relay teams:

As regards relay teams, the signatures of all three competitors are definitely required. For this reason, no online-applications are accepted. Please, download to yourselves the official form from the Internet and send this to the registration address TEAMOstseeMan.

 

In case members of relay teams are not of age on the day of the competition and thus do not have complete competence, the parents must sign the release from liability for this participant as well.

 

Relay participants need no start passport or no day license.

Bank charges are payable by the participant. Checks of foreign participants must be transferred from a German bank.

 

 

Additional costs:

a) Day license € 15,-

b) Pasta Party Ticket for guests € 12,- (includes: pasta, salad, water, beer, cake, Steinmeier fruit juices). Participants in the single competition can acquire from every registration maximum two additional and participants in the relay competition maximum three additional tickets.

c) If there are changes of the registration after the deadline for application (05 July 2010), there will be an administrative charge of € 15,-. Administrative costs per process calculates.

 

 

Right of withdrawal:

Every participant is entitled to withdraw until 31 May 2010. The entry fee will be refunded after the deduction of 60.00€ as an administrative charge. Foreign competitors should send their IBAN and SWIFT Nr. with their withdrawal. Bank charges are payable by the participant.

 

After 31 May 2010 entry fees will not be refunded any more.

Age groups OstseeMan:

Single participants: according to DTU; minimum age single participants: 20 years

Relay teams: without age groups; minimum age relay teams swim: 14 years/ bike: 19 years/ run: 18 years

 

 

Team scoring OstseeMan:

Each team consists of participants of the same sex. The three best participants of a club score. Therefore an additional list of names for the team is not necessary. However, all team members have to use the same spelling of the name of the club including abbreviations.

 

 

Relay teams OstseeMan:

Each relay team consists of a swimmer, a cyclist and a runner. Two disciplines may also be done by one participant. Women’s, men’s and mixed teams are allowed. There occurs no age group evaluation. 

 

 

Prize Money: € 12.700,-

 

 

Prize Money single participants OstseeMan:

The first three men and women will receive a bonus of € 1.500,- / € 750,- / € 500,-. The male and female winners will receive an additional “Steinmeier bonus” of € 1.000,- donated by Steinmeier Süssmosterei from Kaltoft.

 

The winner of the men’s race with a result of less than 9 hours and the winner of the women’s race with a result of less than 10 hours will receive a bonus of another € 1.000,-. This bonus will go only to the winners even if several athletes finish in less than the above mentioned time.

 

 

Track records OstseeMan:

For new track records both the male and the female winners will receive an additional bonus of € 1.000,-. Only the winners will receive this bonus even if several athletes set a new track record.

 

 

Prize Money teams OstseeMan:

The first men’s and women’s teams will receive a bonus of € 300,-. The second and third men’s and women’s teams will receive presents.

 

 

Prize Money relay teams: 

The winning relay teams in the categories of men, women and mixed relay teams will receive a bonus of € 200,-. The second and third winning relay teams of men, women and mixed relay teams will receive presents.

 

 

Awards:

Every participant finishing the competition within a total time of 15 hours will receive the official OstseeMan Finisher-Shirt, a medal and a certificate as well as a result sheet. The winners of the age groups will receive a present.

 

Special scorings:

a) Norddeutsche Meisterschaften - North German Championships (SH / HAM / BRE / NIE / MVP); The honor of the North German Champion as well as the places 2 and 3 occurs within the scope of the winner's honor through the Schleswig-Holsteinische Triathlon-Union. Age group evaluation analogously OstseeMan.

b) International Military Challenge for members of international armed forces of all arms of the service according to special announcement (on request). Age group evaluation analogously OstseeMan.

c) Company relay team championship; Each relay team consists of a swimmer, a cyclist and a runner independent of gender. Two disciplines may also be done by one participant. The honor of the winner's relay team as well as the places 2 and 3 occurs within the scope of the winner's honor. There occurs no age group evaluation.

 

 

Food and drink:

During the competition, participants will get a sufficient supply of water, isotonic drinks, cola, energy bars and bananas. After the competition, drinks and food will be available in the finishing area.

 

 

Service:

Massage treatment will be available in the changing zone. Medical care and rescue service will be provided by the Bundeswehr medical team, the German Red Cross and the Glücksburg police as well as by physicians.

 

 

Competition:

All participants will start the competition at the beach promenade of Glücksburg by a crowd start on the swimming distance, a triangular course close to the beach, to be passed two times. The swimmers will swim in the Baltic Sea, facing Denmark. After the change a fast bicycle course will follow, passing the charming landscape of Angeln. The course is to be passed six times, thus being very eventful for both the participants and the spectators.

The change will take place in the same changing zone as after swimming.

The running course, which leads along the water via the promenade to the center of Glücksburg for 3 km, through the castle grounds, passing the castle, is to be passed five times.

Swimming 2 hours 10 mins.
Swimming and cycling 9 hours 30 mins.
Swimming, cycling and running 15 hours 00 mins.
