JBH's netsend gui 2.2 for WinNT/Win2k/Win XP

The program is released under the GNU Public license.

The program makes the sending of messages from WinNT/Win2k/Win XP computers easier. It is a GUI for the net send command in the WinNT console. It scans the a domain/workgroup and lists all available computers. Computers which are needed quite often can be put on VIP lists which is saved in a file "vip". It is also possible to create VIP lists of IP addresses.

Installation

The self-installing version installs automatically and runs without Tcl/Tk installed because it is wrapped with freewrap 4.4.
If you download only the script file you will also need Tcl/Tk 8.3 or higher.

Download

The latest version will allways be available here.

known bugs and todo's

- will not work on Win9* or Me, but computers running these operating systems can be reached if they are running winpopup.exe
- if the whole command "net send ..." exceeds 128 characters it fails. So the message length is limited to about 70 characters.

I'd appreciate bug reports, and comments and suggestions to jbh.bln@foni.net . Comments from XP users are needed!
